The El Monte City School District in collaboration with the Los Angeles Superior Courts Division offers an early intervention program called Teen Court. This program provides an opportunity for selected juvenile offenders accused of misdemeanor violations to be questioned, judged, and sentenced by a jury of their peers. Teen Court is based on the philosophy that both the students who volunteer to participate as jurors and the juvenile offenders will benefit from the participation.
The Teen Court will be conducted at the El Monte City School District Office at 3540 N. Lexington Ave., El Monte between the hours of Participants will include the El Monte Police Department, School Officials, a Superior Court Judge and students in grades six through eight.
