Parents need school supplies too!
The latest news and information from schools in the El Monte City School District is now available on smartphones and mobile devices with the new EMCSD mobile app. The district is partnering with Parentlink to expand its communications outreach with a mobile app that is now available for free in the online iTunes® and Google Play® app stores.
The mobile app will offer a constantly updated feed of district news and events with photos and links to the district’s website. The app can also be customized by the user by selecting the schools they are most interested in for news and updates. Users can also choose to receive push notifications to get breaking news and updates about calendar changes and school emergencies.
“We know that our students are more successful in schools when parents are engaged in their learning and school activities,” said Dr. Maribel Garcia, EMCSD Superintendent. “With our new mobile app, parents and community members can stay connected with our schools and with the activities our students are engaged in on a daily basis.”
Cynthia Mongenel, parent of both a fifth and a third grader remarked, “I used to have to dig through backpacks to find school information flyers. Now I get the information right on my phone. I really like the way the app keeps me informed. “
District Community Liaison Maria Morgan said, “The app provides communication and critical school information right at your fingertips. It has been well received by district parents.”
Parents and the public are encouraged to download this free mobile app to their smartphones from the online iTunes® and Google Play® app stores. Simply search EMCSD. After the app is downloaded, follow your favorite school(s).
